PTI Make It Monday: Glitter Buttons

I'm back with a project for this week's Make It Monday, to use glittered buttons. I found this big yellow flower button in my stash and decided to sparkle it up with some Buttercup stickles. The rest of the card just fell into place after I picked out some coordinating card stock and paper in my scrap bin.

It is sunny right now in Seattle, though the forecast today does include some snow! It's definitely cold out, but I'm not seeing any clouds that look like they are going to bring us snow. I hope not, I'm ready for spring!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good week!

February PTI Blog Hop: Interactive Cards

Hi and Happy Weekend! I'm back with a project for Papertrey Ink's February blog hop, to make an interactive card. I knew my February release order wouldn't arrive in time for me to play with the new zipper or slider dies for the hop, so I created this project last weekend.

I found a depleted Starbucks gift card lying on my desk and it got me thinking about fun ways to present a gift card to someone. I came up with this:

And here is the interactive part where the recipient can pull out the gift card:

Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to seeing all the other projects in the hop!

Heart to Heart

I got a late start to crafting today. It's just after 10 p.m. as I post this. I have a friend coming over tomorrow and I've spent all day getting my house ready for my guest. I'm tired, but I just had to play along with today's PTI anniversary challenge, which is to create a project using hearts.

Do you remember Nichole's red, white and kraft card here? It is one of my all time favorites, I just love everything about it. I was thinking about the new Heart 2 Heart coffee cup set Melissa Bickford is releasing this month, and it reminded me of Nichole's card. I decided to do a variation on it, swapping out the white for dark chocolate coffee cups and adding in some pops of Raspberry Fizz for something different.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sending Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday!!!! I'm back with a card I made using this sketch provided by PTI in honor of their 5th Anniversary celebration:

Here is the card I made inspired by the sketch. It doesn't follow the design exactly, but that's the fun part of sketch challenges. They offer a good starting point and then you can change things up as you like.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Shades of Blue

Friday Eve! One day closer to the weekend! I'm back with my project for today's Papertrey Ink challenge, to pick an image from Pinterest and make something inspired by it. All of the designers' projects were lovely, but I decided to select my own inspiration photo from Pinterest. I chose this one:

Those who know me know blue is my favorite color (I guess you could figure that out from my blog template, too!). Since I've been making so many pink projects lately, I decided it was time for a change. Here is my card inspired by the blue tile image above:

This is a super simple graphic card. I just used a 7/8" square punch to cut out four squares each from Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky and Hawaiian Shores card stock and layered them on a Soft Stone card base. I left off the fourth Hawaiian Shores square and stamped "Miss You" from the Communique Curves Sentiments set. Easy Peasy.

Fun with Color

Happy Hump Day! I'm back with a card for today's PTI color combination challenge. I selected Melissa Phillips' color combination shown here:

I've been drawn to pinks lately, so her color combination was right up my alley!

More Fun with Freebies

Two posts in one day! I'll keep this one short. I'm back with my second card featuring one of the PTI freebie images. This one features Dawn's tag:

The tag aside, I was definitely tapping my "Dawn muse" for this card. Bold colors, lots of layers, damask background. Super fun card, I think it's one of my all time favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see what's in store tomorrow for the PTI anniversary festivities!
