Back to School

As a kid, I loved going back to school in the fall. The best part was getting new school supplies. I was always excited when my mom would take me to the store to pick out new pencils, folders and ruled paper for the year ahead. We always took a list with us to make sure we didn't forget anything! This card was inspired by that memory. All stamps and note card by A Muse. I created the ruled notebook paper by using the circle border stamp from the A Muse personal stationery clear set, and then punched out the centers of the circles and cut the edges to make it look like the paper had been ripped out of a notebook. I hand drew in the blue lines with a triplus fineliner. I stamped out the apple and stack of books (masking off the coffee cup from the original image) and cut out, then colored in with Koh-I-Noor pencils. Thanks for looking!

Bee-utiful Day!

This week's challenge on the A Muse Addicts site is to "Get Wild!" I don't have any animal stamps from A Muse, so I pulled out my insects instead! The bee and beehive stamps are relatively new for me, and I hadn't created anything with them yet, so I decided to use them. All stamps, pretty little paper, note card and ribbon from A Muse. Marvy scallop punch. Copic markers, clear Spica glitter pen.

Stamping up a storm!

This week over on the A Muse Addicts site there are four stamps of the week in honor of the A Muse Addicts 1st birthday celebration. I have three of the four stamps, so I decided to make a card for each one.

The first one uses the Coffee Break clear set, which is one of my favorites. I decided to make a pocket card. The inside reads "you are the cream in my coffee." All stamps, ribbon, note card, and DP by A Muse. Brads by Queen & Co. Eyelet by Making Memories.

The next card features Rock Star. I made this a birthday card for my sister's boyfriend, who is addicted to Guitar Hero! I took the "my hero" sentiment stamp, masked off "my" and hand wrote in guitar. On the inside of the card I used the "happy birthday little dude" stamp, but masked off "little" so it just reads "happy birthday dude." All stamps by A Muse. Stampin Up! word window punch. Guitar DP by DCWV. Note card by Memory Box.

Finally, the last card features Vespa Girl. Those who know me well know I am a HUGE Francophile. I love all things French, especially Paris. This card is a tribute to my visit to Paris, and experiencing the INSANE drive around the Arc de Triomphe Etoile (those of you who have been there know what I'm talking about!). The Arc de Triomphe stamp is by Stamp out Cute. All other stamps by A Muse. Background paper and note card by Memory Box.

Life is Good

Jennie's Weekly Challenge over on the A Muse Addicts site for this week is to create a scene with stamps. I love the new Cityscape stamp that was part of the A-Muse-A-Palooza release. There are lots of possibilities for it, but the idea for this card is what came to mind first. Being a Seattle girl, I love spending time in my city. I also love taking walks, and spending time with a certain someone, so this card incorporates all three of those things! Indeed, life is good!

Hope you're having an enjoyable weekend!

Oh My!

This is my second creation for this week's Out of the Box challenge for A-Muse-A-Palooza. I was inspired by Rhonda's card here: http://craftyblessings.blogspot.com/2008/06/make-it-in-hay.html
My kissing couple stamp hasn't seen a whole lot of love recently, so I wanted to give it some attention! I dug out the oldie but goodie "Oh My!" sentiment, and everything else just fell into place. I love it when that happens! All stamps, red kitchen note card and creative candy sticker by A Muse.

Have a good weekend!

Monogram Time

I made a set of monogram note cards for my friend, Robin. Her birthday is in August, but I like to prepare early! Robin is a former boss of mine who became a good friend, and is one of the biggest supporters of my creative efforts. Right now she and her husband are living in Japan for five years. This DP by Cottage Press had an elegant Asian feel to it, which I thought would be perfect for the monogram notes. The French Roast note card is by A Muse, the "R" script initial is by Impress.

Bonjour Paris!

This week's challenge over at the A Muse Addicts site is to create a card inspired by a vacation get-away. Those who know me well know I adore anything related to France (My house decor is French inspired, with several Eiffel Towers). French was my most favorite subject in school, and I took it for six years. To this day, I still gravitate to the Travel section in bookstores and look for anything related to France that might be a good read.

I've been to Paris once, about seven years ago. My sister and I went together. She was the only one from her high school drill team to be nominated to be part of the American All Star Dance/Drill team and participate in Paris's New Year's Day parade. I was her chaperone, and we had a fantastic time, even though we were only there a week. I'm a New Year's baby, so to be in Paris for my birthday was a dream come true!

One of my fondest memories from our trip was an evening boat ride along the River Seine. I decided to recreate one of my favorite scenes--viewing the Eiffel Tower looming above the bridges crossing the Seine. I can't wait to visit again!

Ayez un bon week-end et les mercis de visiter mon blog! (Have a good weekend and thanks for visiting my blog!)

6/16 ETA: Thank you to Rhonda for telling me about the Ott Lite! I retook a picture of this card under my new lamp and it made a world of difference! I only wish I had found out about this sooner. I feel like I need to retake all of the pictures of my cards in my photo gallery!
