I was able to use some supplies that I'd had in my stash for awhile for this card, which is always a good feeling!
I layered the Fillable Frames 6 die cut on top of a Mat Stack 1 die cut and stamped a little scene. Although the bitty bird die is not new to me, this was the first time I used it. I also worked in one of the Edgers 3 dies for a decorative edge to one of the design papers (papers from Lily Bee Design, Happily Lost collection). A sweet card for a sweet friend.
This second card features a Mat Stack 1 die cut on top of a Mat Stack 5 die cut. The sentiment is from the new Wildflower Garden stamp set. Although the background paper doesn't show up well in the photo, I stamped the marigold image repeatedly to create my own background paper (feel free to click on the picture for a closer look). The zinnia seed packet is actually a journaling note sticker from K & Co. The little insert pulls out and I stamped another sentiment from the Wildflower Garden set on it. On the bottom of the packet, the label says "Westinghouse Seeds." Westinghouse is the last name of one of my dearest friends, so I'm sending this card to her.
The paper clips are mini clothes pins that I decorated with felt die cut flowers (Beautiful Blooms II #2) and leaves (Sending You). The book mark features a similar die cut flower adhered to a jumbo paper clip.
She probably has as many shoes as Imelda Marcos. Okay, maybe not, but she has a ton! The stamps are all from a Hero Arts clear set.
I recently picked up a package of ATC sized sticky back canvas. I decided to try out a piece for this card and covered it with Distress Ink to create the sky background. The cloud was die cut from felt and I die cut the house from the Love Lives Here collection and inked the heart punch out with red to make it pop. The background paper is from Memory Box.
When she asked me about my interests and what types of embellishments I liked, I told her I was interested in making some of those paper medallions that are so trendy right now. Not only did she make some for me, she also used one to decorate her beautiful bag!
If you're a regular visitor to my blog or have seen some of my forum posts, it's no secret that I love all things French. I can't wait to play with the fleur-de-lis stickers and the Parisian charms! I'm also excited to try out those mega-sized Gluber glue dots!
I mentioned the paper medallions earlier. I have a couple of co-workers who are going to have babies in the next couple of months and I'm envisioning adding these to their cards or shower gifts. Some colorful paper clips and safety pins are in the upper left, along with some beautiful stick pins. On the right is a fabulous pile of cork and balsa wood die cuts! Yippeee!! Can't wait to play with it all!
This card uses a masculine color combination of kraft, chocolate brown and moss green. I also incorporated some balsa wood for my focal point. I die cut a business card size of balsa wood I had in my stash with the Fillable Frames #7 die and stamped it with a leaf image from Turning a New Leaf and the sentiment from Fillable Frames #4. This was mounted on to a rounded corner piece of chocolate brown card stock and then adhered to a piece of moss green cardstock that I embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder (Country Foliage).
